What the Flux-a-Thon??!!
A Flux Factory production, our 2nd annual Flux-a-Thon is part parade, part dinner/dance party, part participatory art showdown, part walkathon, but 100% Fluxy.
All were invited to march with teams through LIC from our home base, Flux Factory to the lovely new LICArtists gallery located on the scenic waterfront of Hunter's Point. After our celebrity panel bestowed honors on our teams, we celebrated all night with drinks, food, performances, DJs, site-specific installations and more!
Proceeds from the Flux-a-Thon support Flux's free public art exhibitions and help keep costs low for our Artists-in-Residence.
Dozens of artists marched to raise Flux some bucks! Click below to read about all the teams we had this year, and please consider sponsoring a parader to keep Flux's mission to emerging artists alive.
There were no losers at Flux, but there WERE winners.
Our panel of experts this year of 2017 included visual artist Duke Riley, The Chocolate Factory's Sheila Lewandowski, curator Jennie Lamensdorf and more!
With drinks provided by Lagunitas Brewery and food provided by local businesses, Flux-a-Thon ticket holders were served pulled pork sandwiches, pickled, grilled and fresh vegetables and fruit, and specialty beverages! Pinkies out, y'all!
